Viral Challenge: Think Again: Start-Up Cities
For the viral challenge, I developed a graphic that would delve into the concept of location as a factor in how well start-ups do. I incorporated multiple factors that people traditionally don’t think about when they are in the concept phase of their start-up such as rent, reputation, top colleges in the area (for recruitment purposes), and tax rates. Each of these factors are relevant to the survival of a start-up business but are things that people only become acutely aware of when living in a particular city.
Since people are relatively emotionally attached to cities, they have a connection to them and may want to share the information based on an analysis that in some way mimics an approval or disproval of some business-related aspect of those cities.
